Forse (o ch'io spero!) artefice di Numi, nuovo meco darai spirto alle Grazie ch'or di tua man sorgon dal marmo... with this poem foscolo was honoring Canova's last marble piece"Le Grazie".The old legend says about a world of beauty and armony where Le Grazie(female goddess of the artistic beauty) ruled upon caos and ingiustice,clearly visible to everybody.But the world got corrupted and they got covered behind a vail trough which only an artistic mind could see,generating the need of men to read and create beauty beyond the harsh realty of daily life
